Preschool

Ages:           2-5 years

At Lakeside Academy, preschool begins at age 2 and continues until kindergarten.  During these formative years, studies prove that there are many windows of opportunity for children to learn, grow, and absorb information that later may be very difficult to instill.

                                                Learning Through Play:          

While playing in the class or outside, children have many opportunities to make their own decisions and try out different roles.  Our drama and home centers give children a stage and an audience where they can make up dialogue and experience cooperative play with friends.  Playtime is an arena for creativity and adventure!                                                          

        Practice Makes Perfect!

To assist with fine motor and cognitive development, we include daily activities such as coloring, painting, drawing, lacing, patterning and many other fun and educational  activities.

Brain Builders:

Part of our daily plan includes circle time.  A time to introduce the children to new songs, stories and ideas.  A time for students to share things from home.  A time to sing and dance or read a story.  Using our monthly theme to incorporate our lessons, we learn and review topics such as letters, numbers, calendars, sounds, shapes, colors, and even social topics like "getting along with our friends".
